Multimedia

This activity is intended to foster the creativity and technical ability of the participants and to utilise the latest technology in serving God in a Christian context.

Activity Guidelines:

• The multimedia activity could be a solo or group activity for school year 3 and up 

• Group size is 2-7 participants

• Project must relate to festival theme

• Categories: Graphics, Web Design, Multimedia (video/slideshow), Computer Game, Mobile App

  • Graphics: Create a computer image. Suggested Programs: Photoshop or Twisted Brush

  • Web Design: Design a website. The website may include images and/or music. Suggested Programs: Wix, Wordpress, FrontPage, Google sites, WebDwarf, ChocolateBanana and StrawBerryMango.

  • Multimedia: Create a video or a slideshow. Suggested Programs: Windows Movie Maker or PowerPoint

  • Computer Game: Create any Christian computer game. Suggested Program: Game Maker 8

  • Mobile Application: Create a mobile app. Suggested Program: Qt Creator

• Programs listed are suggestions only

• Project must be original work of participant - plagiarism prohibited

• Project must be uploaded to Google Drive by IT servant  

• All resources used must be Orthodox-consistent 

Evaluation Criteria:

• Topic/Content (1-10 points)

  • Covers topic fully and in-depth with properly cited sources

  • Includes accurate and complete information 

  • Encourages further interest

• Relation to Theme (1-10 points)

Relevance and connection to festival theme

• Technical Capability (1-10 points) 

  • Shows effective and skilful use of technology

  • Includes at least 5 original graphics or 5 animations

  • Incorporates advanced features like video and audio

• Spelling/Grammar/Flow (1-10 points)

  • Correct spelling, punctuation, grammar

  • Logical game scenarios and site navigation

  • Easy to follow and understand

• Presentation Skills (1-10 points) 

  • Communicates enthusiastically with clear delivery

  • Choice of colours/fonts is appropriate and appealing

• Originality (1-10 points)

  • Participant contributed substantially to content and presentation

The criteria cover topic, theme, technical skill, spelling/grammar, presentation ability, and originality. Each component will be scored from 1-10 and combined for the overall grade.
